I’ve had several issues with 360 , the latest is it won’t record a series, not all. But in particular the F1 highlights on channel 4! never had an issue with that on TiVo! It’s annoying because I have to remember to record it ,not very convenient.
TiVO is very versatile & has unique features, some of which are patented & cannot be duplicated. As has been said many times here, V360 is a migration to a different TV platform (Horizon), that is the property of Virgin’s parent company. Horizon has been around in mainland Europe since 2010, & is widely used by cable operators there. It is very streaming centric, unlike TiVO which is recording centric. It is also future proof for Virgin’s move away from traditional cable TV services to the next generation full fibre internet driven TV/streaming environment.
So what you are saying is that after 14 years use the horizon platform has not been updated to include some pretty basic features!
To add one factor that may be at play with the F1 in particular.
TiVo-firmware allows series links to cover multiple channels, thus Sky Sports F1 & Channel 4 can potentially be covered by the same highlights programmes - this is certainly how Premiership Rugby has been done in the past across TNT Sports & ITV.
Are you saying that the C4 highlights aren't covered by a series link? They are on my V6
Or that your TV360 won't set series links at all? That's a fault if so.
series links work very differently in the 360 firmware. It is definitely a retrograde step!
If I try to series link the F1 highlights on channel 4 it says unable to complete try again later. I really think 360 is a step backwards. Really poor. Feels untested unreliable. Only had it 3 months. Had more issues in that time, than I’ve had with TiVo in 10 years
You can always sign into the channel 4 app and watch the highlights if the recording fails.
