360 box stuck on welcome screen

I think my box may be in need of replacement

i have tried reboot 

holding down the power and + buttons together 

still stuck on welcome screen and wont go past it

changed cabling, rebooted the router etc. still the same

i think the hard drive may be gone as it has been giving failed recording messages recently etc
