360 box stuck cycling the welcome screen

Hello hive mind!

My Virgin tv box is stuck cycling the welcome screen. It sits on the welcome screen a while, then turns itself off and on again, occasionally shows an icon that looks like a download icon? Then repeats this. Been going on a few hours now. I've rebooted the main hub and checked all the cables etc. Could someone clarify how to do the reset of the TV box for me please? I've followed the steps I found - turn it off at the back, hold the power and '+' buttons, turn it on while holding those and keep holding for 30 seconds. Nothing happens unfortunately. Held the buttons in for a good two minutes as well and still nothing changes. 

Any advice or suggestions greatly welcomed!

    Try turning off the 360 by the switch on the back of the box;  then on the front of the 360 box  hold down both the standby/power button and the - (minus) button at the same time. Then turn on the 360 again whilst keeping hold of those buttons for a further 30 seconds.

    You could also try the three fingered salute, which is switch off on the back of the box;  then on the front hold down the plus, minus and standby/power buttons at the same time, and switch on again whilst keeping all three buttons pressed down.  When it restarts you might see a message it can't acquire the channels. If so press OK and let it restart again.

    I think my tv box may have kicked the bucket, not sure. 

    Your advice worked perfectly, thank you for responding so fast. After its done it's reboot its still going back to cycling the welcome screen and restarting with the power light staying red.
