360 box standby mode

Why is there not an option to disable the standby mode ? only gives the option of 4, 5, 6 or 24 hours ???

      Hi Dave,

I thought VIP's could still post links.

I should have said html links

        Hi Roy,

I can sometimes post html links without them throwing up an error, but the majority of the time they aren't accepted.

Sometimes copy pasting a url directly from a previous post, or from the browser bar, or from a saved word/notepad/notepad+ document works for me but isn't very reliable.

I've been tending to create my post in full, then inserting the link as text where I want it placing, and then clicking the reply button to complete my response.

  • That's the way it is, if you change channel or interact with the 360 box then the 24 hours rolls over.

Why do you want the 360 box to not switch off if no one is watching anything.

If you are talking about the start time of the box go to Settings, System, Standby power consumption and set to fast start or active start, active start s the best compromise.

Standby mode is important in reducing electricity usage, meeting energy efficiency standards, preventing premature wear and enabling firmware or software updates (which for VM usually take place overnight). Also the costs of standby are modest: if the STB uses 10 watts of power and your electricity costs 30p per kWh, then 24 hours each day on standby for a month is £2.16.
