VM landline to uk mobile charges

So waste of time with VM chat agent re call charges from landline to uk mobile...

Found a £0.48p call charge on bill, we dont use our landline, it just part of the package deal..

So asked chat to explain the charges, they state a call to a mobile number, I worked it out to be my wifes number. OK but the kicker...   it was a 16 second call.. and VM charged us 48p 

I asked billing chat to advise what VM landline charges are, chat agent would not advise on any charges? the reply was ' I am not the authorised person do that ' ? wth?

    Does your wife's mobile show a recent call of about 16 seconds from the VM landline ?

    The connection fee is charged by all landline providers, but when we are all migrated to VoIP this legacy circuit-switched charge would become inexcusable.

    At those rates (VM and BT), it is unsurprising that use of the landline is in terminal decline.

    Thanks for your first post and welcome to our community.

    Sorry, you were not given the correct information when you called the team.

    I'd just like to clarify this for you.

    Any call from a landline to a UK mobile is charged at 24p a minute plus a 24p connection fee. 

    This is only on the following call plans, Weekend Chatter and Evening and Weekend Chatter.

    The 2 other call plans we have, Anytimer Chatter and International Anytime Chatter, are free for up to 60 minutes. Then after that it is 24p per minute.

      Thank you for the reply and update, this is still a rip off!

      Can you advise why when on Billing chat, wasting an hour as they take 5 to 10 min to reply to each chat text, they could not and would not advise on landline charges? quote  ' I am not the authorised person do that ' 

      What is the point even having VM billing chat?

      I shall be looking into my VM account termination date, landline hidden charges along with the VM/O2 account handling, I found information/items within my account which should not be there on top of that, account security codes for O2 login been sent to a mobile number that was not mine! !

      I logged this as a breach of GDPR and still waiting for an explanation!

        Our online chat option is a very popular contact method and the agents tend to deal with numerous enquiries at any given time.

        I'm sorry this wasn't a pleasant experience for you.

        The request for advice on landline call charges, I have a feeling this might have been misinterpreted by our team, with them thinking you were asking for the call charges to a specific number dialled. They should have advised the correct charges, like I did before.

        When did you raise the GDPR request?
