Need to keep my old landline as I am disabled - still not done

Was told my number would be transferred from NOW broadband but have been given a new number - temporarily apparently.  Impossible to talk to anyone.  Desperate to keep old number.  Still not been transferred and it is over 10 days.  Having buyers remorse!
