Landline phone switchover to fibre not working

On 16/01/2026, I received an email saying: "Your home phone’s been switched to our fibre network" and to connect my DECT phone to the Virgin Media Hub 4 using the adapter VM had sent over earlier. I did that and I restarted the Hub.

My phone reports there is no line connected. I've tried restarting the Hub 4 several times. I've tried switching from Telephone port 1 to 2 at the back of the Hub 4 and it doesn't make a difference.

There is no phone signal coming from the broadband Hub.

The Hub 4 is in modem mode. All the connections are correct. The phone is connected to the adapter, which is connected to phone port 1 on the Hub 4. I have turned the Hub off and on, I have reset it, I have followed instructions on the VM website, but nothing at all works. There is no phone signal coming from the broadband Hub. Any suggestions other than phoning VM and reporting a fault? Many thanks.

    Logon to Hub and check what the "Telephony" status says?  The Hub may not yet be provisioned for the phone.  The TEL 1 socket is the one to use btw.

    As this is a Community Forum, and not a direct line to VM as such, it will take a day or two for a VM Mod to pick this up. If your need is urgent, it would be best to phone Customer Services directly.

    Also try your telephone connected to the original wall sockets, 
    can you still make / take calls via the original land line ?
