Help With Landline?

Hi I have had no working Landline for 4 days, I have tried the service faults and it says there is no fault with the phone.

If I phone my home number from my mobile it cancels straight away, And family that have tried to phone say it gives an engaged sound, Even with the phone unplugged from the wall it still does the same.

I tried Phoning VM on my mobile but where I have had Virgin Media since it was NTLWorld and for the life of me I cant remember the security question answer and as its automated I cant go any further with reporting the fault.

Why isn't there a Report Fault on the web pages is beyond me!

Please can I get this sorted?

Can you reset your telephone password as below via 'My VM'?

Memorial name | Virgin Media Community - 5563613

Also if you log into 'My VM' do you have a service status option with a button to run tests on your landline?

A VM person should reply to your topic in due course, usually within a few days

Sorry to hear of the issues experienced with the landline services.

Can you please confirm if you have been able to try an alternative handset on the landline connection?

Is this currently plugged into your router, or one of the older copper line sockets?

If this is one of the older copper line sockets, is this via the master socket or an extension socket?

    Thanks,

Hi yes the handset if fine, It is plugged into what would be a copper socket I think as its not connected to the router, its plugged into the socket on the wall. Please can you check it your end? As I said if I phone the number from my mobile it just dials the number and then automatically cancels the call, and if someone phones from a landline it gives an Engaged tone.

there have been a few Virgin Media vans in my street the last couple of days so not sure if this is connected to our problems?

Thanks for confirming SteveK, is this handset connected via the master socket or extension socket?

The master socket would usually be slightly bigger and offer you the symbol of the telecommunications company who installed this.

        Thanks
