Digital switchover query

Hi

Our digital switchover is due on the 9th October.

Our landline phone box connects in the living room

The broadband Hub is upstairs in a bedroom. In a separate bedroom upstairs there is a landline phone extension.

From what i understand i need  Virgin to arrange for an engineer to come out to move the phone upstairs or the hub downstairs.

Can this be done via live chat or should i phone 0800 052 5750?

Regards

My folks ( 89 & 90 ) had a similar situation, they use a cordless phone with 3 handsets, the cordless base unit is connected direct to their Hub.

Problem solved and no crackling ancient internal cables or 1980s style BT sockets are involved.

  • Hi Aizen 👋 Welcome back to the community!

Thanks for posting and raising these concerns about your landline switchover. We will just need to ensure you have an engineers appointment booked in to complete your switch. They can make sure that your setup at home is optimised to best suit your needs, and home layout.

I will send you a PM to confirm a few details and ensure we get this arranged for you. Please keep an eye on your Inbox 📩 in the top right corner of the page.
We can return to this public thread with another update when possible. Thanks for your patience in the meantime! 🌞

  • Hi All 👋 Just returning to the public thread to keep it updated.

Thanks to Aizen for PMing with me - we were able to confirm all the details needed to book in an appointment. Hopefully this will resolve any of the concerns about your set up at home as part of the digital switchover.

Hope the appointment goes well - let us know if there's anything else you need help with. Wishing you all the best! 🌞
