Not Available 1001

Why do I keep getting this error when using the TVGO website using Edge browser on two different Laptops I use? I was watching Sky Sports News earlier today and after 10 minutes 'Not Available' popped up!

It happens randomly on Sky Sports and TNT and seems to be only when watching Live broadcasts, it will just throw up Not Available and show the 1001 code? I mainly watch after 5pm and another family member watching TVGO via Chrome/Firefox on a Desktop PC also  gets this problem as well?

This, coincidentally, started happening since we took the free offer up to have TNT Sports added to our package because  of the removal of Eurosport!

And while we are on about TNT, why do I keep getting nagged with 'Are You Still Watching' and then ending the broadcast if you don't click 'Keep Watching'? I remember this was an issue when I last subscribed to TNT over a year ago and looks like no one at Virgin wants to acknowledge the problem, acknowledge it exists or offer any solution for it, so why does it happen?

  • So watching the Forest match on TNT just now this popped up after 88 minutes:

As you can see, if you don't click 'Keep watching' the program will stop! Why is this annoyance still happening?

      Hi Web-Junkie

Thanks for your post. Sorry to hear you've been facing a few issues/annoyances with the TV Go service.

In regards to the error you've been receiving, you've mentioned this is happening on two desktops/laptops, do you have the app version of TV Go on an iOS or Andriod device and if so, have you noticed the issue occurring from there too? Along with the pop up for 'Are you still watching?'?

Are you only specifically receiving the 'Are you still watching?' notice when you're watching TNT Sports?

When did this start popping up?

  • I haven't had the 'Not available 1001' since I posted so we'll see if that is still an issue but the 'Are you still watching' has been going on for well over a year and seems to be when watching live broadcasts on TNT and I do believe I experienced it on one of the ITV channels as well while watching live football but can't remember exactly when!

I only watch on Laptops (My brother uses a Windows 10 desktop), I have previously used both the APP and the TVGO website via Edge browser on Windows 10 and now just use TVGO via the website in Edge on Windows 11 laptops but the issue is still there a year or more later and no one at Virgin seems to be bothered about it seeing as it has been reported before but no one at Virgin has ever acknowledged it happens or been forthcoming about why it happens!

It's like a timer kicks in when you start watching live TNT broadcasts and if you don't click 'Keep watching' within 60 seconds the broadcast terminates! In fact it's just popped up now during the Athletico / Real match on TNT 3 which prompted me to check if  anyone has replied to my post, so it's still happening, it's still an annoyance and I shouldn't have to be forced to click things to keep watching a broadcast!

So, just after I post this, I get the 'Not available 1001' message appear just as the Athletico / Real match goes to penalties, so that is still happening as well now!!

Hey Web-Junkie, thank you for reaching out and I am so sorry to hear you've had some issues watching the football over the last few days.

Did this also happen again last night?

        Has this ever happened before?

Are you using any VPN's when the game is on?

  • It didn't happen the other night as I was flicking over to different matches so it never appeared, which seems to point to watching a single live TNT channel for a prolonged period of time causes the popup!

'Are you still watching' has been happening for well over a year, I noticed it on TNT live football when I first subscribed to TNT, I don't watch much else, and now i'm watching TNT again the same 'Are you still watching' issue is still there!

    No VPN is being used!

And the 'Not Available' seems to have appeared when when we took the offer up to have TNT due to the removal of Eurosport! It has just happened now, was watching the Ski Jumping on TNT on my 2nd laptop and then adverts were shown and now I have 'Not Available' Sorry - we can't play this at the moment 1001, this was around 11am.

    So what's causing this?

Of the two laptops I use, the first one I use is wired to watch TVGO during our evening meal, but 'Not Available' happens on that too and not only on TNT as we mainly watch Sky Sports News on it and it's happened watching that, this has a 13th gen i7 CPU with 16GB RAM so have to use a home plug as the wireless is non-existent in the room we have our evening meal so use a home plug, never used that to watch live football on TNT long enough to see if the 'Are you still watching' pops up!

The other laptop is the one I mainly use and is an old DELL Vostro with an i3 5th gen CPU with 8GB RAM connected via wireless as the HUB3 is in the same room and the 'Not available' and 'Are you still watching' happens on that. I also watch BBC iPlayer, ITVX, DFB Play, Sky Sorts Football Youtube, German Football Youtube, FA Player, UEFA.tv on it and I have never seen 'Not available' or 'Are you still watching' using those streaming services so it's a Virgin TVGO issue!

Thank you for that information. To confirm, are you using the Tv Go app or the web browser version?

      ^Martin

  • Through the web browser, but 'Are you still watching' has happened when using the APP.
