New VM02 oauth has broken SkySports login

Tried to sign in to sky sports main event this morning via the usual Virgin Media login button on the site and the new auth has broken into Sky's login servers.

  • Hi browellm, sorry to hear of the issues experienced accessing your Sky Sports account. We've reached out to our team and been advised that there is a known issue the team is working on, although there is currently no estimated fix time for this. Apologies for any inconvenience caused during this time. We will aim to get the service up and running as soon as possible.

Hi. What is the latest on this? It's been a week now with this same problem. Can we at least have an ETA for a fix!?

Hi Pleg 👋 Thank you for your query and welcome to the Virgin Media Community 🙂

Are you any further forward with this since posting?

In the event that you're not, we'll send you a private message on here. Look out for the envelope in the top right-hand corner.

      Regards,
      Daniel

  • Missed the South Africa v Australia rugby championship match. Not receiving the email Virgin/O2 says they HAVE sent. If not tap the link below. Still nothing. Can't log in and can't get a new link now.
when is this going to be sorted. I'm not prepared to go into all the loops others seem to have had to follow. Either it works or it doesn't. And it doesn't.

Please if you have a fix, share simple and accurate step by step instructions to resolve, preferably what can be done without support, failing that share the instructions with your support staff so people don't have to waste time with your support staff who are faffing around in the dark.

last thread i had, your advise was.....

'Also whilst this is happening please use Bing to login in. That is the Browser. Cheers'

Not surprisingly this did not work, bing is search engine not a browser. Why on earth you think that would work, the level of incompetence beggars belief.

  • I still can't access my account or get sky sports on my devices. The support has been extraordinarily bad, even for VM's appalling standards.

For me it's because when I try to link my Virgin Media account to the new (totally pointless) VMO2 log in thing it cannot find my account.

Every time I call up they say they'll log a ticket and it will be sorted within 48 hours and they'll definitely call me. It obviously doesn't get fixed and they obviously never call me.

Today one of them told me oh it's been fixed but it hadn't. We then got cut off and obviously I considered killing myself with frustration.

Oh, and when I asked to be put through the retentions on the basis that I just couldn't handle being a VM customer anymore, some rude kid told me, without expressing any sympathy for my issue or showing any intention of understanding the problem, well you can cancel your service but you you'll owe us 400 quid. Brilliant. Thanks mate.

So now I know VM is Hotel California, but instead of pink champagne on ice we get undertrained liers, assuming we get through to anyone at all that is.

I am now certain this issue will never be resolved. And that's because I'm certain they don't care about resolving it. The right hand does not know what the the left is doing. But it does seem both hands want to punch me in the balls and ruin my life.

      Hi VMO2-strokeby50,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

We're sorry to hear you're having issues with linking your Virgin Media account to your VM O2 ID.

When raising a ticket with the IT Team, whilst they usually come back within 5-7 days, it can sometimes take longer.

We're not able to expedite things with IT I'm afraid. As soon as they are able to resolve things, they'll be in touch directly with you.

In the meantime, we may be able to offer some general support. You can find help with completing the linking of the account here

      Many thanks,
