Latest update to ‘GO’ app

Has anyone had the same problem after the last update to the GO App. I am no longer able to delete a recording on the app and I am also unable to select RECORD on any programme on any tv channel. This is very frustrating as I use the app quite a bit and like to be able to use these two features. Also can someone please tell me why when I record Top Gear on BBC3 I can’t play the recording via the GO app IT MAKES NO SENSE!!

    Hi Retiredatast,

    I've just deleted and old recording via the latest TVGo app.  I was also able to successfully set up a recording of The Rag Trade using the TVGo app.

    BBC don't have a broadcast agreement to allow any of their live programs to be viewed via the TVGo app, I believe it's the same with SkyGo too.  They want viewers to use the actual iPlayer app.

    The same applies to trying to view recordings via the TVGo app.  Instead of playing the recording via the TVGO app it automatically redirects to BBC's iPlayer app (if you have that on your device) and plays the 'recording' via Player (providing that program is available on iPlayer)

      thanks for the reply and the reason about bbc programmes, but I have tried again this morning to set a recording on the GO app and it just gives me a failure message after a couple of minutes and I get a similar message when trying to delete a programme from my Saved area.

      it happens both on my iPad and my Samsung phone.

        Hi Retiredatast thanks for posting although we're sorry to hear of the concerns you've raised here regarding TV Go. 

        Can you confirm that this is impacting all channels apart from BBC ones, do you have any screenshots too?

    I am not too worried about the bbc 3 issue, as the same happens with TNT Sports that you cannot watch recorded programmes on the TV GO app.

    My main issue is that since I ran the update to the app a few weeks ago I am now UNABLE to delete a recording on the APP once I have watched it and the other day I was out away from home and I tried to set a programme to record using the app and this did not work either. Both of these facilities were available to me prior to the update.

    I am using an Apple iPad and a Samsung s21.

    On another note I received an email from virgin yesterday advising me to upgrade my hub to a hub 4, which I have ordered, but I don’t see how this will change the app???
