Is Virgin TV Go 4k on Apple TV?

Hi all. Just looking to possibly move across to Virgin, but I tend to watch most TV through an Apple TV 4k box, and wanted to know whether the Virgin TVGO app streamed in 4k on that platform?

Also, I use the TV Launcher app so that I get all the terrestrial TV on one TV Guide (this has the advantage that I can choose which app it streams the programme from in a similar way to FREELY) and I see Virgin TVGO has been added to my choices there for each channel........but, would it be 4k through that?

    What are you hoping to watch in 4k on Virgin TV Go?

    I haven't got access to TNT Sports Ultimate at the moment, but I think that is the only channel in the guide that is broadcast in 4k. The Sky Sports channels aren't broadcast through Virgin TV Go on Apple TV.

    Anything else is up-scaled.

        As far as I am aware there are only the following linear channels broadcast in 4k in the UK via any platform:

        Virgin Ultra HD channel

        Sky Sports [up to 4 channels]

        TNT Sport Ultimate

        No terrestrial channel does, indeed the BBC only uses 720p on the Apple TV box as opposed to 1080 on a Virgin TV box.

        The BBC does have a bit of catch up UHD content available to view through the iPlayer, but not the version on the Apple TV box due to the limitation above. It is available on new Virgin Media boxes.

    I don't have details but be warned that some content is missing from the Apple TV compared to the mobile devices.

      Yes, I kinda realised that because SKY GO has a similar issue.....and is why I like the TV Launcher app (as I can add in all the missing channels that way).
