Cant watch Sky Sports on phone/laptop

I just renewed for another 24 months and since I did I can’t watch live events on laptop or phone. Tv fine. When I select a match or whatever I get a pop up saying “Get Sky Sports to watch this”. I have Sky Sports !!! I’m logging in at the virgin customer log in. I actually do get logged in (so it says at the top) but no go. 

I raised it with VM who said they’d look into it. When I checked up on progress they’d changed the status to SOLVED. It hadn’t been solved in any way!!!

so frustrating, any ideas or suggestions so welcome, thanks

    I have exact the same issue, renewed contract last Thursday and can’t watch Sky Sports since. I get exactly the same message. They need to get this sorted.

    I have exactly this too having renewed last week. I also can’t watch Sky Sports on app either since renewal. Shambles!!

    I have this too and also I can't sign in at myVirginMedia in browser (goes to https://www.virginmedia.com/myvmo2 with a BAD REQUEST error page - or on myvirginmedia app which goes back to sign in page. Really beyond frustrating now.

    I have checked I have the latest Sky Sports app and myVirginMedia app and deleted and reinstalled both too. No change. In fact, th myVirginMedia App won't even let me sign in now, it crashes back to the sign in screen half way through loading up

      Sorry to hear of the issues watching content via the Sky Sports app, we understand the frustration this can cause and appreciate you raising this via the forums.

      Just to confirm, you have set up and completed the verification of your VMO2 ID? A Virgin Media O2 ID replaces the need to create separate sign in details for Virgin Media and O2 online spaces.

      If you have a My Virgin Media or My O2 account and haven’t set up your Virgin Media O2 ID yet, when you sign in to these spaces, just enter the email address you’d usually use to sign in. We’ll then ask you to create your new ID.

      Otherwise, head to any of our sites and tap Register to sign up and create your Virgin Media O2 ID. These would be the details needed to sign into all of the app's such as MyVM, TV Go, Connect app and the Sky Sports app.

        Yes I have my VM O2 ID. I can access/Sign in to Sky Sports on iOS App & Windows. I just can't view the matches etc - it tells me to "get Sky Sports to view this live" - a tad frustrating when I'm paying monthly already for it...
