WiFi coverage not great, need help

Hi,

Joined up to 1 gig package a few days ago and getting around 800mbs in the room of the hub and around 500 one floor up.

My previous extender I used with sky isn't improving the coverage at all, it's dual band but the virgin connect app suggests turning this off as its best to use a single band only.

What's best in this scenario? What device can I use to extend the signal but only the 5g? I dont want to create a second network name.

Reads like you have not configured your Wi-Fi Repeater correctly or it is placed too far from the VM Hub
i.e. in a location where the VM Hub's Wi-Fi signal is far too poor to repeat.

The comment about the VM Connect app not quite correct.
The Connect app is trying to merge the Hub's 2.4 & 5 GHz SSIDs into a common network.

If you wish to have split SSIDs, start by uninstalling the Connect app from all devices in your home
and manage the Wi-Fi via the Hub menu at http://192.168.0.1/

I think your wifi expectations are unrealistic, 500mb one floor up is really good
