Weak and slow wifi connection

My wifi has been weak and slow for months now. I first bought my own extenders (not via Virgin) which worked for a while, but now they have gone weak due to the source of the wifi still being weak. Every time I call up, the phoneline runs an issue test, tells me that it is fine, and then hangs up on me.

This isn't going to resolve by itself, and I've followed all of the guidance in terms of box placement.

Can anybody advise the best way to actually get through to somebody at Virgin Media to rectify? It's really frustrating as I cannot work from home anymore due to the unreliability.

Thanks in advance

What make and model of extenders do you have.  Thes are always the least satisfactory way (albeit cheapest) of solving wifi connection issues.

To address the wifi issues, VM now supply “wifi Pods” (no longer doing cheap and cheerless and poor value “boosters”). However, their Pods are only free to customers on the 1GB, Volt (or old Ultimate Oomph) packages - is that you? If so they are worth trying - they should work for you. VM Wifi is now “guaranteed” to 30 Mbps/room it’s now called… Wifi Max
See if anything in here helps….

But... If you do want to invest in better equipment, you would need to get either a… (1) Mesh System, (2) Wireless router, (3) Wireless access point(s), (4) a pair of good quality Wifi Powerline Adaptors, or a combination of (2&3).

£100-150 should sort it for most customers with an average property and usage. Spend more for additional advanced“features” - if required.

"but now they have gone weak due to the source of the wifi still being weak."    - Really ??

Usually Wi-Fi repeaters fail to work as expected because the install instructions have been ignored
and the Wi-Fi Repeated is in a location where there is no signal from the VM Hub for it to repeat.
