Upgraded to 1gb from 500; But speeds haven't improved

Afternoon; two days ago I went from 500, to 1g and had a new Hub 4 sent out (was hub 3).

However, I'm not seeing an increase on speeds.

I'm using a wired connection.
hub4 is in modem only.
Router is AC1750, I'm connected wired via the gb port.
fast.com shows me at 520, speedtest.net shows me as 350, google shows me as 550.

Has the upgrade been applied to the account correctly perhaps?

    Three things.

    1 - Check the conf settings on the Hub. It will show what speed has been provisioned.
    It's Configuration tab - Primary Downstream Service Flow - Max Traffic Rate.

    2 - The Hub has to be put back in Router mode ( VM will always ask for this anyway ) and run the FULL tests on this website.  This uses the built in speed test client within the Hub's firmware, hence Router mode.  Post the results here for comment. Use a known good Cat 6 cable for this wired test.

    3 - Check the WAN throughput of your Router, it is quite feasible it can't cope with 1Gb speeds.  I had to change mine recently as it topped out at around 400Mb.  It is something people often forget about when upgrading.

      Thanks for the reply;

      Max Traffic Rate
      1200000450

      Presume that is 1gb;

      having another weird issue - can't access the hub 4 on 192.168.100.1; after a reboot, it works for roughly a minute, I can browse the GUI etc; but then it stops responding, ping's no longer works. But this is in modem only mode - the router which is on 192.168.0.1 - continues to function. I have internet connection (typing through it now); but can't access the Hub 4 GUI through a browser; New one to me, that.

    Yes, you are provisioned for 1 Gb.

    The Hub 4 can respond on 192.168.0.1 when in Modem mode for some reason, but I believe it is the only Hub to do so.  The Hub can't be in Modem mode and Router mode at the same time.  If you are using the Hub as a modem, then only one cable can be connected and it will not have any Wifi available.  Perhaps the Hub is not going into Modem mode for some reason?

      Not sure; but it's resolved itself over night;

      I'm not getting above 600mb however, so still not fulfilled speeds - this is via wired connection, Hub 4 in modem only mode.

      I'll try it with just the hub 4 in router mode and direct connection and report back.

        You can power down the Hub and connect a single device to it in modem mode and then power the Hub back on.  As long as the device is set to DHCP it will work.  If a windows device, you need to test in "Safe Mode with Networking Support".  This will rule out any software causing slowdowns.  Max wired speed over 1Gb is approx 940Mb.
