Proverbial Speed Issue with new hub 5 router

Had a new hub 5 installed yesterday - did a speedtest albeit on my iphone and I was getting download speeds averaging between 690-720 Mbps and upload maxing at 105 Mbps late last night and this morning only maxing download at 160 Mbps with the upload speed maxing at about 80 Mbps. I have got a wireless immersion heater timer which only could connect at 2.4 ghz (so I disabled the 5.0ghz setting) to enable the timer to connect. Thinking that this was the answer for why the speed had reduced, I reinstated the 5.0ghz setting, checked the speed and the speed was reduced. I have reset the router online and can still connect, although was then advised that there appered to be an intermittent signal issue, although the service status online says that there is no broadband issue within my area.
