If you want proof now you can put the hub in modem mode with a PC and see if its stable but then your problems are wifi so take it what you will.
Sorry, just trying to get to the bottom of this. If you're saying that the data I provided means the hub isn't working correctly, then surely VM should provide a hub that's fit for purpose.
