So I just got my new broadband installed and I used the port on the hub that is for 10 Gig but I'm only getting 5 gig on speedtests and less than that on wifi, any ideas?

You have 5Gbps symmetrical on what is likely a trial (VM has done a number of trials over the years). This is to prove what XGS-PON is capable of and does not indicate in any way that these speeds will be offered to the public any time soon.
I don't remember accepting any kind of trial, I've already been billed in full for services.. i just signed up when they knocked on my door like anyone else.
How would the phone bit of the package work though with a 5x?
