Wrong socket on virgin media box?

Hi! I just moved in and am trying to set up my broadband, but I can’t quite figure out which wall socket I should be plugging in to. I have some old Telewest boxes next to a small virgin media box. But the VM box only has a small rectangular socket, no circular one.

The hub cable does fit in the “TV” and “FM DAB” sockets of the Telewest box, but after plugging in to each and waiting 2 hours, the hub light still just flashes Green with no internet.

Can anyone help? Thanks very much!

This is the cable outlet (circled in red):

Unscrew this & push your connector over the exposed thread.

Telewest is one of the many older cable companies absorbed by Virgin Media over the years.

PS. The multi outlet panel is not anything to do with incoming cable services. It connects to the buildings rooftop antenna system.

If this is not successful the cable has possibly been disconnected at the omnibox or street cabinet. So:

      Call the pre-installs team on 0800 052 1734 8AM- 9PM Monday - Friday or 8AM-6PM Saturday and Sunday

Just thought I'd add that the two phone sockets will never be used and can be removed.

Thanks for posting. Welcome to both the community and indeed Virgin Media 🙂

Apologies for any confusion over the install/sockets etc. Thanks to our community members who have responded.

Upon a system check, you've spoke to the team I see, an engineer was booked and then subsequently cancelled. Is everything sorted?

Keep us posted if you need help.
