What do I connect an extra cable to for broadband ?

Newbie question…

We moved into a house which has virgin media cable previously, I signed up and I’m please with the kit which was easy to install and provides a good broadband in the house. The property has a garden room which seems to have a cable wire running to it from a box on the side of the house ( splitter box ?? ). What is needed to be connected to this to get broadband in there as the signal from the box in the lounge is non-existent? Is it a hub, tv box, or router ? any help on this simple question please.

Can you move your existing hub to the other outlet? Yes, if it is still connected in the main drop box from the cabinet.

Can you have another additional hub to plug in to that outlet? No. You are only allowed one hub per customer account. You can use it for a Virgin V360 TV box as well as the hub, but nothing else.

If you need to improve your Broadband elsewhere in the house, look at Wi-Fi extenders, Ethernet wiring or Powerline extenders, or even your own router to plug into Virgin’s hub with stronger Wi-Fi.

The best solution is to run exterior grade Ethernet cable round the side of the house to the garden room and connect a wireless access point to it for WiFi.
