Wall box, query if compatible with virgin?

Hello all,

I was hoping to get virgin media to my new property (which I am having a few problems with). On the chat they said that virgin was last supplied to my rental in August 2025, however I am not able to find a virgin wall box in the house. I have attached a copy of the outside box - which does look like it may have been virgin. But on the other side are these 2 connectors. One said bt openreach, but I have not heard of the other one. Has anyone come across this box before ? Is it compatible with virgin media?

Kind Regards

Comcast box with the connector sticking out of the bottom looks like the one for VM.

Comcast was absorbed into Virgin Media some years ago. It is the same network, & the wiring should be fine. Make sure you push the connector from the provided self install kit onto the terminal marked "TV" in the bottom of the diplexer/isolator outlet. You might want to try removing the paint from the terminal or you could end up with a poor connection.

  • Thank you for the replies, do you know if the comcast box will be compatible with fibre?

You are in a legacy network area, so the service is through a high grade copper coaxial cable. Coax cables can easily deliver “fibre” internet speeds as high as 10Gb, so it does not matter what type of network VM has in your area, the speed you order is the speed you should expect to get.
