Virgin internet cable in our garden

Hi, I would like to speak to someone from Virgin Media as there is a cable running straight down the middle of my, and my next door neighbour's front garden. Our boundary fence has become damaged recently and needs replacing but the cable appears to have been stapled along the bottom of the fence. With the recent loss of part of our fence, the cables are trailing along the grass and are at risk of being hidden and clipped by lawnmowers, or damaged in other ways, and are causing a trip hazard for the children playing between both properties. I spoke to a BT operative working in our street recently who said these cables are Virgin and should have been buried underground? Can I speak to someone to have this rectified?

    Welcome to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear of your cabling concerns. Do you have some images of the cable so we can assist you further on this?

Does the cable go into a brown box that should be attached to your home?

I can't upload pictures. But the cables run into a brown box attached to my property. The cables are now becoming very loose and were almost run over by the neighbour's lawnmower yesterday, and I have noticed today that the cables are now running out onto the pavement and road outside the fence boundary and is causing a real trip hazard on a street with heavy foot traffic. I would like this dealt with urgently.

If the cables are causing an obstruction or safety hazard to the public then you need to report it to your local Council/Authority.  They will get it sorted more quickly than a private request to Virginmedia, who tend to be very slow with things like this.
