Virgin fibre in house currently but when I signed up fibre cables were cut by 3rd party

Just don't understand why I wouldn't be using the current virgin media fibre cables that are already in the house? Signed up to 1gb fibre should I not just receive a new router and TV box and not need the fibre and cables done again considering they are already there?

First you said the cable was cut, then you said it was still there. Which is it?

You can normally use the cables both outside and inside, but if there is a cut cable VM must send round a tech to sort it out.

VMs competitors have been known to cut VMs cabling when installing their own equipment. So if you or a previous occupant have used Sky or BT, they may have cut the connection to the VM cabinet.

  • Hey CuriousTea, thank you for reaching out and a warm welcome to the community, we are sorry to hear about the cut cables.

If the cables have been cut they would need fixing as the service wouldn't work without active cables.

Have you managed to get somebody down to fix this at all?
