Honestly the customer service we have been getting from Virgin over the past 7 weeks is beyond disgusting.  All they have done is lie and fob us off with one story after another and promises of doing work on a date that never happens.  Im about ready to pull my hair out.

Better deals and better updated equipment. Been loyal customer over 20 years to VM. Customer service is non-existent. Been stuck with outdated router and tech for over 3 years, switching now best option, although do not think VM will wake up until they have lost all customers !

Access Wi-Fi 6 or 7. Use 5gbs speeds. Router with two 10gbs ethernet ports, one WAN one LAN. Main problem contact a customer service that gives a S**t about its customers. You have been around a while , suffering ?

None of the VM hubs are very good with WiFi, a different hub will probably give no increase in wiki range. Your best bet is to get some Wireless Access Points to increase the range or a full blown mesh system with the VM hub in modem mode.

so really your fine you buy into VM wifi system by having 3 pods and you have a hub 4 a hub 5 will not help you any more with wifi you can watch 4K on your phone just fine.

If VM wifi is rubbish then a hub 5 will not help you look to get your own router with better wifi

WiFi6,6E or 7 can provide better speeds and handle more devices ?

You can request a Hub 5, VM pods, Wifi 6 and the moon on a stick but, ultimately, the only wifi guarantee VM offers you on their equipment is 30 Mbps.

Yes, as per VM’s T’s and C’s which you agreed to when you signed up, if you are on a 1 Gbit connection, then you should expect at least 500 Mb/s but only over a wired connection. Wireless is limited to 30 Mb/s.

And this is deliberate all providers know that WiFi is a complete black art, too many factors involved and it’s out of their control.

All VM will guarantee (and remember that you agreed to this when you signed up) is 30 Mb/s in all the rooms in your house (excluding any sheds, outbuildings etc.) and if you can’t get this then they will provide you with up to three of their ‘pods’. If having done this you still have less then 30 Mb/s in one room then they will offer you a one-off £100 credit to your account and then wash their hands of the whole issue.

And although it seems harsh, every other ISP does the same thing. In fact I believe that VM are slightly better than their competitors who I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) only 'guarantee' 20 Mb/s or so!

If your not happy with VM saying wifi 30Mb is fine you should look for another ISP

And let us know how other wifi guarantees stack up against the VM one.

Just get your own WiFi equipment, you get what you pay for. VM are not in the business of providing WiFi, they are a broadband provider.
With my WAPs I get a very good signal on the 6Ghz (WiFi 6e) at the end of my garden. Be very careful if you buy your own equipment WiFi numbers are very confusing. WiFi 6e gives you the 6Ghz band as mandatory. WiFi 7 can have the 6Ghz band, but it’s not mandatory. I have seen a lot of WiFi 7 routers that are only 2.4 & 5 GHz.
