Details

You might find that your Virgin Fibre, Voice and Virgin TV services are intermittent, with the picture freezing or disappearing now and then. We are sorry and our engineers are working hard to resolve this for you.

Updates

We'll send you email updates on this issue.

Okay so I get daily updates on an issue which started mid March 2025 and is ongoing as of today 29th April 2025 badly pixelated picture and serious sound drop out makes TV watching a pain in the butt when you loose the gist of a conversation or the nitty gritties of  a love triangle. How long should I put up with this crapp service before I pull the plug on my Virgin contract and move elsewhere. So I'll get compensation when the fault is resolved but what are the engineers doing when the estimated repair date keeps being shunted forward almost daily.

Plus loss of Wi-Fi when broad band goes down is costing me Mobile Phone Data usage which is costing me cash.

  • Hey drymdrum, thank you for reaching out and we are so sorry to hear there is an area outage.

We understand these are very frustrating.

The outage is an SNR outage - SNR (signal to noise ratio). This is just a technical term for interference of the Broadband signal caused by noise which ingresses on to our network. It's a difficult problem to locate and diagnose. This is because noise can ingress anywhere on our network. This affects the whole area..

We do have an automatic compensation scheme here but to qualify services have to be down for 2 full working days  and then you get £9.98 per day for a total loss of service. Please see the link for a full break down regrading this.
