Student broadband 12 months contract

Hi,

I'm planning to get a 12 months M250 contract for next academic year. However, my uni house contract is only 11.5 months and has already started (August 25-July26). Would I have to pay a cancellation fee since I won't be in the house for 12 months. I won't be able to install the wifi until september.

Thanks

Think you can cancel, but you'd just have to pay for the 0.5 of a month you're not using. Bung it on the student loan that you'll never pay back ;)

  • My best advice would be run away and run now!!! Virgin are a masterclass in incompetence carrying out even basic repairs. They will never forget to bill you but will endlessly fail to solve what should be basic issues.

    Hi Alex_Si

You'll qualify for a £25 Just Eat gift card for purchasing M250 Student broadband.

Looking ahead, if you’ll be returning to the same house in the  next academic year then you can freeze your VM contract and services over the summer by speaking to the Home Movers team.

Also if you won't be returning but somebody else in the property wants VM broadband when you move out, then you can both gain £50 cash by using the Refer a Friend scheme.  (That should cover any early termination fee)

With student broadband you also qualify for O2 priority-perks

There is also the https://www.virginmedia.com/broadband/rolling-contract to consider, although that will be more expensive due to a possible set up fee, (there's no set up fee with the Student broadband deals) and a  £45 rolling contract fee.

    Good luck with your studies.
