Severed fibre cable

Hi.

I've cut a fibre cable in our front garden. I think it's likely the virgin media cable, though I suppose it could be BT. I'm not sure how to differentiate them. It's a black cable for what that's worth.

I'm a former virgin customer but currently with Sky, so this is of no actual consequence to me. However, I thought it courteous to at least report it.  20 minutes trying to navigate call menus and offshore support forced me to throw in the towel with that plan though, so I'm resorting to the forums.

I'm currently out of contract with Sky and may have considered moving back to Virgin at some point, but would not do this until the cable was repaired, or confirmed as not the virgin cable.

If you are not actually a customer it is doubtful VM would send anyone to fix it (as it is not in use and is an expense for VM to remedy).

If you ever returned to VM you would need to get it repaired as part of the installation process via a technician visit.

If you want to post up some photos of the damage, forum users may offer advice as to what sort of cable you have cut.

A VM person should reply here to your topic, usually within a few days.

Sorry to hear of the cable being cut in error, external to your property.

If you can please forward a picture of the cabling, we can take a closer look to confirm if this indeed ours.

However as this is no service effecting, we may not be in a position to have this resolved, but we can cross that bridge, if indeed we need to come to it.

    Thanks,
