Second account and connection at same property

Question

Hi, my grandmother has a landline and Tivo currently but would like to add broadband. Despite several conversations with sales/cancellations they are unable to add broadband without upgrading her package and updating the TV box, which she is not comfortable in doing at all as she is used to Tivo and they way it works. So it is essential the TV and phone line she has is kept as-is today.

Before I proceed with installation of a separate (Openreach) line with another company, I wondered if it would be possible to set up a separate account at the address for Virgin broadband?

We wouldn't advise that we can offer multiple accounts at an address and therefore would suggest seeking an alternative provider for the broadband connection required.

bretta&nbsp;I would add a note of caution here. The TiVO box your grandmother has is obsolete now, so when it finally breaks VM will not be able to replace it. If you add Broadband to her account she can have a V6 TiVO box as a replacement. These are still fully maintained &amp; perform far better. They also use the same remote &amp; the same firmware as the box she has now, so she will not see any difference in the way the box operates to the one she has. My technically averse father is using a V6, he is 87 &amp; has 70% sight loss &amp; I very rarely have to help him use it.Do not let them sell you V360, it is a completely different TV platform.

Thank you. As the newer 360 box is the norm I'm not being offered the V6 as an option to take. Are there any Virgin moderators here that could help build her a package for the V6 box?

Your grandmother's landline will have to be provided by VoIP via a hub or router - regardless of who the ISP is - as there is an industry move away from PSTN. If she likes cable TV then she should take VM's hub which:provides broadband and WiFi;enables the V6 or 360 to work properly;has the port into which her handset will be plugged via an adapter cable.If she struggles to use the remote's buttons I recommend the 360 whose remote has voice control.If she is vulnerable VM can install an EBUL at no cost to provide mobile calls in the event of a power or network outage.
