Router to buy for 1GB internet virgin media hub4 in modem mode
Just upgraded to VM 1GB internet and only getting 400mb on wifi on the hub 4. What router do i need to buy to get 1gb wifi?

You will never get 1 Gbps wifi. You won't even get it via a cat 6 ethernet cable connection via a Hub 4 due to port limitations. Sorry.
Saying that you will get pretty close to it with a cable connection and using modem mode with the cheap tat that are VM hubs is always recommended. I swear by Asus routers but TP-Link and Netgear are good too. See https://www.expertreviews.com/uk/wireless-routers/1413942/best-wireless-routers
