No internet. Network access : Blocked

My Internet went down 9 hours ago.

I can connect fine to my hub setup on a Web browser but the info page shows "Network access : Blocked" and my hub status page shows "Internet (Access denied).

I don't owe any money. I've done the usual power cycle. I've even defaulted the whole thing and started from scratch.

Virgin are telling me it will be 3 DAYS before I can have an engineer.

Somebody at virgin please explain why the hell is my internet access denied

    Not interested, I've cancelled.

An engineer came out and found that the signal limiter that had impeded my signal last week, the one that the first engineer removed to restore my connection, had been REFITTED. I was told by this latest guy that a signal limiter should NEVER be fitted without informing the contract holder. It shouldn't have been there in the first place, it shouldn't have been refitted, and yet again I had a couple of days connection after he left, and this morning it's down AGAIN, I am willing to put actual cash money on the fact that somebody from either Virgin or whoever their "network services" contractor is, has been out and refitted that same damn limiter.

I had a peek over the guy's shoulder in our street cab. It's an absolute atrocity. I'm ex cctv so I know how hard co-ax and BNC's are to work with, but I have never in 10 years in that career ever seen such a tightly cramped spaghetti mess, how they ever stop what must be an endless stream of strain faults and water ingress is beyond me, the cover doesn't even secure properly.

Currently I have no VM connection and frankly I couldn't care less, YouFibre came in yesterday, dealt with all the cancellation stuff for me, and put me a direct fibre to my door. I'm saving £20 a month and I now enjoy 500M down and up rather than the 100/16 I was getting with VM.

And right on time, the bill landed for my next month. I almost had a stroke with the laughter that followed.

      Good on you.

You know what's mad, look on Statista website, its a statistics website for everything.

      Did you know this:

At the start of covid, and all the way through it, at a time that people were being laid off, ill, dying and couldn't work. Virgin Media increased their prices all throughout and used the words in their letters they continued to mail out saying something along the line of due to the current circumstances of C19 and blah blah blah they were going to be increasing their prices.

They basically made it look like they were one of the companies majorly negatively effected by the C19, which couldn't be further from the truth.

Statista shows that Virgin Media had record high profits during that period, in fact it was higher than the few years leading up to C19, and they still chose to fleece us.  Prior to C19 i paid £27 a month out of contract, now I pay nearly £58 out of contact since C19.

Virgin is a morally broken company with over priced prices and allot of broken services.
