We have suffered with poor performance on VM for years but it’s the only viable provider unless I want unreliable 34mb. The ping makes competitive gaming impossible.
3 months ago they installed loads of new street boxes in our area. However, nothing has been done since. I’m keen to move over to XGS because of how bad docsis is.
does anyone know how I’d find out about what virgins plans are and whether I can push to get moved across sooner?

There has been nothing on the board or announced by VM for the change over from DOCSIS to fibre XGS-PON for any area. I would not hold your breath.
So what have they put the boxes in for? Just new customers only? Pretty much everyone on our street is with virgin already as the adsl drops out 8 times a day.
They are just getting ready to convert everyone. At the present time there is no ‘full’ TV service on XGS-PON on the stream box with no recording, also the current Hub5x lacks lots of facilities users have come to expect and is not really ‘fit for purpose’. Some updates to it like modem mode have been promised for a year with nothing in sight.
