I have rang virgin media a number of times and keep getting passed from one department to the next speaking to different calls centres.
And getting no where. It is very frustrating

There won't be a reason recorded anywhere, but if you call sales on 0800 183 1234 they can send someone to check out the location.
Bear in mind that there can be a number of technical reasons that aren't obvious, and VM are not obliged to connect if they choose not to.
