Loss of service for an hour or two every time it's sunny

On Monday the 4th Engineer will be visiting, so far two people have replaced all connectors/splitters, my hub 3 has been replaced, the garden has been dug up to replace the wire to my house, and yet the service was still unusable for a couple of hours:

The router logs:

criticalSYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Loss of Sync;CM-MAC=xxx;CMTS-MAC=xxx;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;

I'm convinced that it's caused by heat in the fibre cabinet - the outages only happen when the sun is out (for interest, I checked today with an IR thermometer & the internal board in the cabinet was running at 59degree Celsius, and that wasn't the hottest part of the day).

The Engineer helping is helpful & I have his direct number, but the first engineer came out in August, and the novelty has worn off... any advice on what else I can do in order to progress this?  Thanks!

    If the cabinet amplifier overheats it should trigger a network alarm & the network teams would be sent out to investigate. Another thing that can cause issues is any external wiring on the walls of the property, as these can increase in resistance when heated & degrade the RF signal.

    If it is a cabinet issue everyone using the cabinet will be affected, so it might be an idea to check with neighbours as to whether they have similar issues.

  • there are other people in the street with similar issues, but less pronounced - I'm going to ask the neighbour (who is plugged in next to us) to set up a quality monitor too - he has outages, but in the order of 3-5 mins...

    Our wiring is very simple with no obvious interference

      Thanks for reaching out to us kb1290, and welcome back to our Community Forums!

      Sorry to hear of the recent issues you've been experienced with the services in your local area.

      There doesn't appear to be any local area issues present currently, are the issues experienced still ongoing?

      Can you please advise us if the neighbour you were discussing this was able to shed any light on this issue?

      Thanks,
