HUB3 not yet recognised

Hello everyone,I hope you all are well......I have just purchased an Elitedesk 800 (H5U03ET#ABU) with a fresh install of windows 7. And this is what is outstanding, although the PCI's and SM Bus Controller are now sorted

I'd be grateful any of your good selves can assist.

regards

Paul

The VM Hub 3 will not appear in the Windows Device Manager .

Assuming your computer is network cable connected to the Hub 3,  the computer’s connection to the internet appears in the Windows "Network Connection".

thanks for your reply. I have been trying to resolve it the passed hour. Right clicked the network icon and tried my wifi network number and password,no success. I did delve into the Network and found thatthe router is recognised

thanks for your reply. I have been trying to resolve it for the past hour. I have right clicked the Network icon and tried my personal network number and password,no success. I have delved further into the Network, and I have found that the router is recognised

Your device manager image does not show a wireless network adapter, unless you have since connected one.

What is it you are trying to achieve?

Get into the hub's admin settings or something else?

To deal with the remaining missing drivers (USB and TPM) try the chipset driver via

    https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/desktops

and entering your model no. then W7 version

I normally just download the HP sp#####.exe file, then use 7Zip to explore it and extract the driver file, then use device manager to search the folder and detect the driver.

This saves installing a load of bloatware associated with different devices.

Out of interest, why are you running Win 7?

I have a car parts program that won't run on later windows. I had installed the chipset drivers a week ago

Very likely the OP has a specialist device or business application that has driver support for Windows 7 and not for later.

Not everything will function in a VMware build on Win 7 especially if it needs a SCSI adaptor or similar older interface.

The Hub 3 admin menu is accessed in a web browser at :   http://192.168.0.1/

The Hub 3 admin Password printed on a label on the bottom of the Hub 3,
note it differs from the Wi-Fi password.

Problem is the hardware is new for windows 11 and drivers may not go back for support for windows 7 like wifi...unless I looked at the wrong Elitedesk 800? and carl_pearce has post the link to one that support windows 7 so you may need to install some chipset drivers.

then you have the problem of browser support

I visited the sellers shop where he installed windows 7,on the day of purchase. He mentioned to me that the Elitedesk is windows 11 compatible.  I have download all the chipset drivers a week ago.

        Hi egeep,

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.

Have you now been able to connect your device to the hub?

If you're connected via ethernet cable, please try getting online via the device and let us know if you get an errors.

Is this the only device that wont connect in your home?

Please pop back to us when you can.

The processor, based on the PC model no., seems to be around 2013/2014 era so W7 drivers should be suitable for the hardware as per carl_pearce link for this particular model.

Unless the OP has added a new browser, it may well be stuck trying to get online using Internet Explorer.
