Help - 14 day cooling off period problems

help, I'm trying to use my 14 day cooling off period but the agent on live chat is saying I need to give 30 days notice. 

I just want to get rid of my virgin media contract asap, surely I don't need to give 30 days notice to use a 14 day cooling off period? 

anyone able to help?
