get a new WiFi Hub at no extra cost

Question

Received an email today offering to send me the latest WiFi Hub. There's a link to order the Hub which expires in three days, and from what I can gather, I would then have five days to swap over the Hubs.

I would like to take up the offer but I would have to do the reconnecting of all my various devices single handedly. I'd rather not have this to do in the lead up to Christmas. Is there a way to register my interest but have the offer deferred until, say, next month?

Check that accepting the new Hub doesn't tie you into a new two year contract.&nbsp;

If you were to apply the current Hub's SSID and Password to the replacement VM Hub,
all your devices would be able to reconnect.

That is assuming you do not have a house full of Wi-Fi 4 only CCTVs and IoTs etc that prove to be unable to work with the Wi-Fi 6 2.4GHz signal of a Hub 5.

Suggest you get a 3rd party router just so it will all work with the hub in modem mode

Hi - @Client62 thanks for your reply / replies.

I have used a couple of third party routers in the past but in the end I just preferred to use the Hub as supplied. I like the recommendation to apply the current SSID and password to the new Hub.

The wifi frequencies on my current Hub 3 are split between the 2.4 and 5 GHz so I have two identical SSIDs just differentiated by either a 2G or 5G suffix, each having the same password.

I assume it'd be possible to do the same on the Hub 5? I've found a few instructions online which look to set out the steps necessary but would you recommend one in particular to follow?

Thank you - it definitely would be good to know whether the invitation is subject to agreement to a new two year contract.

The email states "We’ve noticed that your WiFi connection at home could do with a boost, so how about we send you our latest WiFi Hub at no extra cost? " but it doesn't confirm or otherwise what happens to my contract.

Would it be possible for that question to be referred to a member of the Forum Team to respond?
