Fixing virgin media wall socket

Question

I want to move my wifi router in my room, but the socket is damaged (it was already damaged before i moved in). The reason I want to move it is because my house has three floors and the router is currently at the bottom floor, so the wifi is weak in certain areas. I also want to build a pc and connect it to the router via ethernet. I've attached a picture below.

Is there a way I can get someone to come home and fix it? If yes, is it going to cost money or is it free?

If you move the hub the WiFi will be bad on the ground floor, do you want that? If not, run an Ethernet cable to your room and connect it to a gigabit network switch, then a WAP and your PC can be plugged into the switch. My sig has an example of such a switch.

Use an adapter to make a temporary connection of the VM hub at the new location

Try out the hub in the new location for a while and see how the change of location affects the wi-fi signal throughout your home. It the new hub location proves suitable, get a proper socket installed there.
