Fitting new hub to old NTL wall box.

Hi, I am new to hear and hoping someone can advise on an issue.

I have the self-installation box and at first couldn't find anywhere to plug it in to. Then found an old NTL wall box. I have read on here that you can just push the cable onto it and it should work. I have done that and at first the solid white light appears on the hub. However, then I get a red flashing light appearing. When I initially thought it was connected, I went to a TV and could see Virgin Media on the network list, and it was only when I tried setting it up, realised the connection wasn't there.

I do have an engineer booked for a couple of weeks anyway as didn't think I had a socket for it to be connected to. But would really like to resolve this myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

  • Hopefully a call to activate will get it up and running.  Otherwise it could be disconnected at the street cabinet.

Thank you. Will ring them when open. Never even thought of that.

If possible uncrew the faceplate and post of photo of what's behind it.
