Connection issues

Only has virgin 3 weeks beginning to wish I’d not switched. I work from home and today lost connection said I wasn’t connected to the internet. Tried all the solutions offered nothing. Suddenly came back on its own, it has done that 4 times since very frustrating and not what I’m used to. Had to book a technician and that’s not till Monday so more work time lost. How can this be a connection problem at my end if it comes back by itself?

Have you lost connection by WiFi or ethernet cable or both? Where was the message that you were not connected?

  • Hi there ck181

Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the community forums, it's great to have you here.

I am so sorry that you have faced this issue with your service and thank you again for posting.

I am glad to hear you have been able to arrange an engineer, are you able to let us know how things are looking after the visit?

Hi yes technician came out didn’t understand why it wasn’t working as there was no reason, changed the hub said it would be activated remotely. It has since been but no apps work, won’t turn off the channel it’s on and internet signal is showing poor. Been back in touch said they’d send a boost and to keep an eye on it for 48 hours. No use when I can watch only 1 channel and won’t be able to work from home. Really regret moving to virgin

complete rubbish - they cannot send a boost whatever the hell that means and they will keep an eye on nothing - you have been royally fobbed off - but they care not as the call is marked solved

wifi on vm hubs is generally poor even in the same room - you need to get hold of a lan cable and see if its ok with that - if it is then look at what you can do to improve the wifi - if its crap wired then its down to VM to solve
