Can someone check the availability of Virgin at my address?

I live between villages and both have Virgin broadband. When it was being installed in those villages as part of a village expansion programme, the road I live on was dug up to install the cable which is right next to my house. However, the online checker says Virgin is not available at my property. Also, while the work was underway we were told we would be covered but at the time weren't in a position to switch to Virgin. Is there any way this can be checked?

  • Is there a Virginmedia street cabinet near you, like the ones that were installed in the villages? If there is one you may have a chance, otherwise they will not be able to connect you.

Thanks jpeg1, there is a cabinet close to my house but I'm 99% sure it's Openreach not Virgin. Not sure where the nearest Virgin one is. Is there a map of Virgin cabinets do you know?

How close would it need to be to be feasible to be connected to?

      Thanks again

It would have to be within a hundred metres or so.

The cable between the villages will be a fibre, and it's not possible to tap into it for a one-off connection. A cabinet would be needed and unless there is a group of houses with potential customers they will not have planned one.
