Cables through fire door frame and into protected lobby - removal request

Hi,

There are Virgin Media cables that have been installed in a protected lobby (block of flats over 11m) which go through a fire door frame and have conduit on the ceiling which should be removed due to electrical regulations regarding fire risk of protected fire exit routes (Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2018+A2:2022).

Could these please be removed and if anyone is connected re-wired through a riser etc?

See below:

Thanks

That's a definite breach of electrical and fire regulations. There should never be any hole made in a fire door frame, or in a ceiling except with approved fire rated trunking.  And the building fire insurance will be invalidated.

This is a serious matter and you can't leave it to a VM contractor to patch it up.  This needs to be checked by a qualified person familiar with fire regulations, to see if there is an approved method of repairing a hole cut in a fire door frame. You don't want someone just patching it with silicon, as it may require a replacement frame to stay legal.

Is there similar damage in other places in the building?

I'd be happy to take a further look into this for you but first I would need to confirm a few details via private message, please look out for my message and we can get started.
