Burying cable advice

Hi all,

My virgin cable is currently not buried and just laid on the surface of my front garden. The cable is also ~2m too long so looping against the brown box. To fix this, I have booked an engineer to shorten and bury it. I couldn't get much clarification on the phone about exactly what is the engineer going to do and what is supplied? I want the cable protected in a conduit so do I need to purchase this myself and if so which one is recommended?

Thanks

Etienne

The technician will assess the job when they get there.  VM staff don't do digging, so if that is required they will arrange for a contractor to come and do it.

My VM cable was "buried" (by a VM tech) about 75mm under the grass sods using a spade to split the grass and the cable dropped into the gap.  It's been there for years and still working, no conduit at all.
