Broadband to house on private driveway

I live on a private driveway which has three houses on and none of the occupants have an issue with the drive being dug up. The details of all occupants were provided to Virgin Media at their request. I did not hear back from VM so contacted them and they are saying that it's not available in my area, despite houses either side of the private driveway having VM broadband. Having read similar articles on this forum I suspect that I have fallen int the category 'it can't be done due to the cost of digging up the private driveway'

Would VM be more likely to provide me broadband if I was to put my own duct in? if so how would I need to present the duct to VM? How do I engage with a provisioning engineer to discuss this further?
