2 Modems in one address?

Hi There,

So we currently have a virgin media modem and subscription in the house, the contract is about to expire. My work are offering to pay for a high speed internet connection for me (Superhub) so what I want to know if can a super hub and regular hub exist in the same house? Of course they will be under 2 separate subscription/accounts.

The plan is to have and use the super hub and regular hub active and together until the contract on the regular super hub expires and get rid of it. is it possible?

you are slightly confused on your terminology of the hubs - superhub - hub - modem/router they all refer to the same thing - the differences are that over the years the release number has increased and older models are no longer issued - but apart from the hub1 there are examples of all the others in use

to add to that different hubs needed for different speeds

all that apart to get to your question - yes its possible to have 2 inputs and therefor 2 hubs but achieving that with the way CS see things may proce difficult to impossible - the computer [usually] says no so moving that forward is a large boulder up a very steep hill

any account must be the named occupant paid from a bank account at the registered address afaik - so that confuses things even more

surely the easy answer is just to upgrade what you have now to the high speed you want - unfortantaly that will not be seen as a new user so it wont be the cheapest deal but certainly the easiest to get into the heads of the script readers offshore - it would still be in your name - it has to be and you would have to get your employer to pay you - again afaik thats the only option

Ok so let me try to be clearer, I will pay for the new service but my work will re-imburse me, so it will be registered to me at my address.

Our current internet with virgin is under the name of my partner, so completely different account.

So i want to know can both virgin internet connections run in parallel?

Or you could have a new connection with a different supplier. The two could operate in parallel.

This was the initial thought, but the deal i'd get with virgin is better than what other suppliers are offering in my area.

that maybe true but getting to the point of 2 VM lines will be difficult - the computer says no so that will be the initial answer - getting further than that needs someone with more than a few brain cells to engage

yes a new install will give you a good price but life can be too short to try and get even the simple things done with VM
