“We are few days away” few months ago

I got an email in October telling me virgin media are a few days away from installation. Then all of a sudden, no more communication and the website just says “we are pleased you are interested”. 

is there any way to know what exactly happened?

    Since VM's communications are so bad, they may not even have a record of what went wrong. It's possible that they cancelled for some reason and didn't bother to tell you - it happens.

    What records do you have from the original contact? Did they give you an actual date for installation?

      Not an order. Virgin media is not yet available in the area so an agent told me to register my interest. This was back in July 2024. Then around October 2024 I got an email telling me that TV and broadband services are a few days away and then I will be able to order. But obviously haven’t had chance to order as it never went live yet.
