When is automatic compensation paid after end of contract?

my broadband went down in october and contract just ended 
when will the automatic compensation be applied to the account?
I am finding it difficult to contact Virgin at the moment - whatsapp doesnt seem to work anymore

    Sorry to hear of the service issues experienced last year, we appreciate you letting us know via the forums and raising your query.

     

    Our Auto Compensation Policy for complete loss of service over 48 hours can be found here as agreed with our regulators. Any eligible compensation would have paid automatically onto the account at that time.

      OK, the link states "Once you’ve reported the issue to us and service has been fully restored, any credit owed will be automatically calculated and applied to your bill". So what happens when the service was never restored during the contract?
