Virgin media refuse to close my account when not in contract and keep receiving eye watering bills!

Hiya everyone,

Can anyone help please? My Virgin media contract ended on May 23rd and I moved over to EE.

I did start the one touch switch to keep my phone number which failed, but the TV and broadband is working. The one touch switch is ongoing and my number is (open) to grab. I received my June bill for £350.00 then Julys is £210.00 I have asked multiple times on the phone to Virgin to close my account and give my 30 days notice but they keep refusing to close my account and need EE to do it.

Surely this cannot be correct I'm the bill payer why will they not close my account? this feels very wrong and criminal to keep sending these bills when I don't want there services? EE assure me there is nothing there end to stop Virgin closing my account.

  • Hi dane3206

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community. Sorry to hear of this account issue. If using the OTS system, then we cannot close it, EE your new provider will need to send notification of the closed order for it to be completed.

EE say it's all complete there side and there should be no reason why virgin can't close the account this is ridiculous
