VAT Invoices

I have been trying for a number of months to get Virgin to produce a full itemised VAT invoices for the service they provide.

Today there representitive first tried to tell me that Virgin don't charge VAT. He then stated that they could not provide VAT invoices unless I provided my VAT number.

The VAT registrtaion theshold is now £90,000 sales turnover per year for a company provideing goods or services that are subject to VAT.

HMRC regulations state that any charge that exceeds £250.00 is made a full VAT invoice should be automatically produced.

For charges of less than £250.00 a full VAT invoice should be provided on request.

Clearly Virgin need to do something to address this issue as well as examine the training they provide to their staff.

    Welcome to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear of your concerns with VAT billing.

We do charge VAT, apologies if this was not what you've been advised.

We do require the VAT registration number to be able to action a request for back billing of VAT billing if that's what you were also requesting as well.

Was there a concern regarding the request for your VAT registration number that you had?
